Please note: please make sure that you have filled in your study plan before registering for the language tests.

The tests you have to take must appear in your study programme (in Esse3). If there is a case of tests taken irregularly, they will be considered invalid. For the compilation of the study plan, you can consult what is published on the Infostudenti portal.

Language skills required

Degree in Business Administration and Law

All the students enrolled must pass: 

  • An entrance test of their choice, choosing from English, French, German, Spanish, for level B1, by the end of the first year of course, as it is preparatory for the second-year exams;
  • An English B1 language test in order to complete their degree.

For students who enrolled up to the academic year 2013/2014 who did not move on to the new regulations, there is also a second language test, which must be in a different language than the entrance test. 

Degree in Business Management

For students who enrolled up to the academic year 2013/2014 who did not move on to the new regulations, there is also a second language test, which must be in a different language than the entrance test. 

Track - Economics and Management (in English)

All the students enrolled must attest the knowledge of the English language level B2 by the beginning of the first exam session.

It is possible to attest the English B2 level by taking the B2 level English language test at the Language Center.

Notes on the B1 English exam

For DEM students, the English B1 language test is divided into three stages:

  1. An initial pass of the listening comprehension test and reading comprehension test (exam code in Esse3: COCS_EN_B1)
  2. A pass on the writing task (exam code in Esse3: partial test PSPO_EN_B1)
  3. To follow, the speaking test (exam code in Esse3: final test PSPO_EN_B1)

Registration to the first two steps (COCS_EN_B1 and partial test PSPO_EN_B1) is via Esse3.
For the speaking test, registration is automatic. More information in the section about speaking test.

Please note: students who have taken and passed the English entrance test in their first year can skip the first step (COCS_EN_B1), but must take the writing task (partial test PSPO_EN_B1) and the speaking test (final test PSPO_EN_B1).

Acknowledgement of language certifications

Students who have a language certification (acknowledged at international level as well as by the Department of Economics and Management) can send the certificate to the Academic and Student Services of their Department, in order to be accredited the credits related to the language test.
