Narrative Competence Hub in a Foreign Language

Would you like to share thoughts, emotions, and stories in a foreign language, in a stimulating and non-judgmental environment?
Would you like to engage with different cultures and languages through art, literature, music, paintings, and photographs?

Then this Hub is the right space for you: creative and participatory workshops where language becomes a tool for listening and storytelling.

Objectives

  • to develop the ability to listen to, understand, and respect others’ stories in a foreign language;
  • to develop the ability to communicate and express thoughts and emotions in a foreign language.
  • to strengthen the sense of community through sharing and intercultural dialogue.

What we will do

During the workshops, we will work on artistic texts and stimuli (short stories, poems, images, songs, visual works) with activities such as:

  • close reading and attentive listening,
  • prompt writing,
  • sharing and discussion in a foreign language.

Who it is for

The two hubs are designed for students of the University of Trento for whom Italian or English are foreign languages, but a limited number of places are also reserved for native speakers, to foster authentic linguistic and cultural exchange.

Micro-credential (Open Badge)

At the end of the programme, participants will receive a digitally certified micro-credential issued as an Open Badge, certifying the soft skills in a foreign language developed during the hub.

Languages offered

  • English as a foreign language (minimum level B2)
  • Italian as a foreign language (minimum level A2)

More than your language level, what matters is your willingness to participate, experiment, and get involved.

When

  • English-language hub from March 12 to May 21; Thursdays, 12:30–14:00
  • Italian-language hub from March 13 to May 29; Fridays, 11:00–12:30

Duration

10 workshops of 1h 30 min.
